About Mukti Foundation

The Mukti Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit social organisation that began operations in Oct-2014 with the goal of improving the lives of the poor in Odisha, both tribal and rural. Its main objectives are to end extreme poverty and hunger, promote social justice and inclusion, ensure good governance, and provide health care (including HIV and AIDS, non-communicable diseases, reproductive and child health). Community Development, Training & Research, Natural Disaster Management, Intervention with Street Children on Child Rights, Life Skills & Education, Prevention of Substance Use & Dependency, and Rehabilitation of Children and Youth Dependent on Drugs, assisting communities in identifying and launching development initiatives, giving pro-poor organizations and individuals training and other capacity-building support, doing advocacy and research in behalf of the underprivileged, particularly the tribal people.MUKTI Foundation being primarily a grass roots organization, the need for reaching our “humanitarian helping hand” is felt and at times it is frustrating for us to feel the helplessness. But on the other hand, it is encouraging in seeing a good number of drug users being brought and sustained in the mainstream and enabling them to earn their livelihood on their own – free of drugs.
